By this time I was working on my second PhD. The first one washed out faster than my second marriage [or maybe it was the cheap vodka]!? Needless to say, I was in hot pursuit- chasing and close to catching another buzz. This will be my last-one; the time before that, the time before that, and the time before that. But, there I was staring at another empty bottle, long passed the hour of discontent, who has time for regrets when it’s the last call for alcohol!?
I quit drinking long enough for the bar to close, mustard-up courage to say goodbye to the night before. I woke up to the clanging noise of metal beating against my windshield. It was a waitress with a blackjack and a cup of coffee ushering me to come out of the cold. She was the morning after, [a very handsome woman] dimples bookending her beautiful smile, she was ambitious filled with such an unearthly passion…I on the other hand, was liquid [heavy] a toxic alcoholic who couldn’t fish himself out of the bottle.
